Rex Brynen, Educator, Author, Policy & Defense Expert
Professor Brynen is Professor of Political Science at McGill University, and is
the author, editor, or coeditor of eleven books on various aspects of
conflict, development, and regional security in the Middle East. In addition
to his academic work, Prof. Brynen has served as a member of the Political
and Security Policy Staff of the (Canadian) Department of Foreign Affairs
and International Trade; as an intelligence analyst for International
Assessment Secretariat of the Privy Council (cabinet) Office; as a member of
the Interdepartmental Experts Group on Middle East intelligence; and as a
consultant to the World Bank, the United Nations, and other governments and
agencies. Together with Gary Milante, he is coeditor of the PAXsims website
on the educational and policy uses of conflict simulation.
